GOLF COUNTRY IS CRATER LAKE COUNTRY!
From Klamath Falls, home of the only Arnold Palmer designed golf course in Oregon, to the South Coast, home of the world-renowned Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Crater Lake Country is a great place to bring your clubs! As a golfer myself, I’ve listed some of my favorite (but not all) golf courses in Crater Lake Country.
BANDON – THE OREGON GOLF COAST
Bandon Dunes Golf Resort – You can’t mention world-class golf courses without mentioning Bandon Dunes. It’s expensive, hard to get on (advance tee times a must), and the weather is often a wind and rain challenge. But if you’re a golfer this is the Holy Grail for golf in the Northwest. Bandon Crossings Golf Course – Just down the road from Bandon Dunes is this fabulous beauty. Its 18 “Unique Experiences” have earned honors from GOLF Magazine, Golfweek and the PGA’s Guide to Travel as a “Favorite Hidden Gem.” Highway 101 at Dew Valley Lane, Bandon, OR 97411, 1.888.465.3218. BROOKINGS
Salmon Run Golf Course – This 18-hole, par-72 layout has four sets of tees on every hole welcoming players of all abilities. 99040 S. Bank Chetco River Road Brookings, OR 97415, 1-877.423.1234. CLICK HERE FOR TEE TIME.
EAGLE POINT
Eagle Point Golf Club – Designed by Robert Trent Jones II, this course is a local favorite and is also rated by Golf Digest. Right off Hwy 62, a main route to Crater Lake. 100 Eagle Point Drive Eagle Point, OR 97524, 1.800.862.3307. CLICK HERE FOR TEE TIME.
Stone Ridge Golf Course – This course is often overlooked, but many locals like it better than Eagle Point. Stone Ridge serves up a visual and dynamic feast. Players are treated to an ever-changing landscape of 18 different holes, each with its own individual character and spectacular views. 500 E Antelope, Eagle Point, OR 97524, 1.541.830.4653. KLAMATH FALLS
Running Y Ranch – The Running Y Ranch resort boasts Oregon’s only Arnold Palmer designed golf course. It’s been honored by most major magazines including Golf Digest and Golf for Women. This par-72 course is a seamless blend of natural beauty and challenging play for all skill levels. 5790 Coopers Hawk Rd. Klamath Falls, OR 97601, 1.888.816.1607. CLICK HERE FOR TEE TIME.
MEDFORD
Centennial Golf Club – Rated by GolfWorld and voted the “Best Golf Course in Southern Oregon” by various reader choice contests, Centennial is 7,309 yards of awe-inspiring vistas of the Rogue Valley and surrounding mountains. Designed by John Fought. 1900 N. Phoenix Rd. Medford, OR 97504, 541-773-4653. CLICK HERE FOR TEE TIME.
Quail Point Golf Course – This is Centennial’s little brother (owned and run by the same company). It offers a challenging nine-hole regulation course (this is definitely not a par 3 course), great course conditions, and ideal for family friendly golf. Check out their 18-hole “Putting Course” for a fun from kids and adults that don’t reguarly play golf. 1200 Mira Mar Avenue Medford, OR 97504, 541-857-7000. CLICK HERE FOR TEE TIME.
MYRTLE CREEK
Myrtle Creek Golf Course – Close to the Seven Feathers Casino in Canyonville, this is a course that is often overlooked by people traveling via I-5. But it’s a friendly and beautiful course with challenging holes and affordable green fees. 1316 Fairway Dr., Myrtle Creek, OR, 97457, 1.541.863.4653. CLICK HERE FOR TEE TIME.
